The Giving Saguaro- Holiday Fundraiser 2022
Our Giving Saguaro fundraiser was a great success! We raised over $3800 to provide 20 families with $100 Visa gift cards, $65 in gifts from their wish lists, homemade treats, and because of some last-minute donations an extra $15 Amazon E-Gift card. Thank you so very much for all your donations!
TACO Team’s Holiday Fundraiser 2021- Completed!
We raised $2176 with the help of a matching donor! We were able to distribute 16 Gift cards, 15 Visa Gift cards and a last minute Target Gift card, along with a bunch of gifts, sweets, cookies, and homemade canned goodies! Thank you all for donating and making the season a little brighter for 16 families! We hope to do this again next year and hope you will help us make it even greater!
Holiday Fundraiser for Tucson 2nd Chance Community Bail Fund
DES has not returned our repeated emails regarding the Adopt-A-Family program so this year we decided to try something new! This year we will raise funds for Tucson Second Chance Community Bail Fund and help reunite families for the holidays.
“The Tucson Second Chance Community Bail Fund (TSCCBF) was established to address the disproportionate impact of the cash bail system on communities of color and vulnerable populations here in Pima County. This effort is an outgrowth of Black Lives Matter (BLM) Tucson’s May 2017 “Mama Bailout Campaign.” That campaign raised money to free mothers in jail as part of a national effort by BLM to raise awareness about the inequities and immorality of using cash bonds to secure the court appearance of defendants. The “Mama Bailout Campaign” was a success, and it helped illuminate the persistent and ongoing need for continued cash bail assistance initiatives here in Pima County. As a result, the Second Chance Bail Fund Coalition (made up of local lawyers, activists, and concerned citizens) was created to manage and facilitate the creation of TSCCBF, in an effort to help end the criminalization of poverty in Tucson.”

Adopt-a-Family 2018
It’s that time again!
“The Adopt-A-Family program is part of the Department of Economic Security’s Division of Developmental Disabilities. Each holiday season we rely on the generosity of the Tucson Community to help families facing a difficult season due to financial challenges.
This year we have adopted 4 large families to help give them a good holiday season. I will post the family information and wish lists. You can either purchase gifts to donate or donate cash and we will purchase the gifts. We have to deliver the gifts to the DES office by Friday, December 14th. So the last event to bring gifts to is Atheist Pizza Night on Sunday, December 9th, otherwise, you will need to contact us to arrange delivery.

Each family member also received a stocking handmade by Lydia Simon, and each family received a box of homemade fudge & cookies.
